Chatting Face to Face on the LCD Television from Different States |

My girlfriend took a contract job up north for a little over a month a few weeks ago right as her lease was expiring. It worked out perfect because she just had to put her stuff in storage and then fly up to this job for the time of the contract. Obviously, it is tough being apart for so long but we have found a way to chat face to face while being in different states. With a webcam and my LCD television, I’m able to see her in very clear video with the help of video conferencing software. The software is free and I already had the HDMI cord to connect the laptop to the flat panel television so I was set. My laptop has a built-in webcam. Hers doesn’t so I found something similar to the Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000 Webcam - CMOS - USB online before she left making it easier to stay in touch.
Everything has worked out perfect. Shopping for the webcam was easy with fantastic retailers like Electronics for Tomorrow at http://electronicsfortomorrow.com/ displaying a plethora of choices at assorted price ranges. I went with a medium grade webcam and it has worked like a charm. The only complaint I have is we are not able to video chat enough both having busy schedules. There’s been times I used my laptop instead of the flat panel television to chat but she feels closer on the larger LCD television.
Technology has really made it easy to stay in close contact with anyone in the world who has a web connection. These days it is hard to find anyone who doesn’t have the internet. It is almost as uncommon as webbed feet. So for any in a similar situation I have to say an LCD television, webcam and solid signal really makes it easy to stay in contact with peers, parents, business partners or in my case a significant other. In no time, her contract will be up and then it may be weird to see her in the flesh instead of on my flat panel television. That will be a great day though. Here is to the technology of tomorrow sold online today. It has made all of life’s inconveniences seem so much smaller. Plane tickets are expensive and the webcams I’ve been seeing online are cheap. What a help it has been. Now to find a deal on a larger flat panel television for my new home theater 5.1 system.
