My son and his girlfriend announced last night that they were getting married. My husband seemed extremely surprised, but I had a feeling that it was coming. He graduated from college earlier this year, and has recently landed a great job. His girlfriend also has a great job and I recently came in his room and noticed that he was looking at a flat panel television online. I knew he couldn’t be looking for the flat panel television for his own room, since he had one and it was practically new. I knew that it had to be for the proverbial bigger and better things, and I just had a sneaking suspicion that he was either moving out, or planning to get married. It looks now that it’s going to be both.
After they left last night to go tell her parents, I told my husband about the flat panel television that I’d seen him looking at. My son did tell us after the announcement that he was in the process of purchasing a home and that it wouldn’t be but about a 15 minute drive. I suggested to my husband that maybe we give them the large flat panel television as a wedding gift, and he agreed.
