Last night, while sipping on a beer at a local pub, my attention was brought to the many flat panel televisions covering Travis Pastrana and his amazing rally jump seen in the clip below. This would have been spectacular to see live in Long Beach. He took a Subaru Impreza over 90 MPH and then flew over 250 feet to the landing ramp which he stuck like a charm. My food had come at this point, but even the smell of Sheppard’s Pie could not get my eyes off the LCD televisions.
He showed his rally chops by cracking the e-brake and whipping the car sideways into the barge barrier to lessen the coming to a stop crash. I had no idea something like this was even being planned so when it happened my mouth was wide open. Even the servers at the pub stopped for a second to watch the LCD televisions. This is definitely the most extreme moment of New Year’s Eve. This morning I rewatched it on my HiFi audio speakers and the crowd noise said it all. The mid air shot is going to make an amazing poster.
