Kobe Man of the Hour on Home Theater 5.1 Speakers |

After tuning into Game 6 of the NBA Finals, highlight video attached below, it became immediately apparent that this series was going all the way. Both teams have played great inconsistent basketball. What I mean by that is there is always a part of each team’s game that looks good but other parts that don’t. Both the Celtics and Lakers have played at 100 percent, during different games but they have done it. After a post Game 5 pep talk from Kobe to his teammates during the interview, it was clear he was not happy with how the Lakers’ played. They came back to LA and exploded behind fan cheers. The Celtics have to be on point to win this championship. The Lakers at home in Game 7 historically don’t lose.
Last night the only name coming out of my home theater 5.1 speakers seemed to be “Kobe.” I hope it is more even during Game 7. While our living room HiFi audio set up sounds really good, our flat panel television has seen better days. It is an older plasma screen my roommate brought with him when we all moved in together. Some of the pixels have died, the color is not what it used to be and it is a power hog. Plasma screens sold online today are none of those things. Flat panel television technology has come a very long way in four years.
It would be really cool to buy a new flat panel television for Game 7. My roommate has been talking about it so I thought I’d become the catalyst for this situation. Electronics for Tomorrow at http://electronicsfortomorrow.com/ has a nice selection of flat panel televisions so it did not take long to find the LG 42PQ30C 42" Plasma TV pictured above. This is the same size as our current screen but much cleaner. I showed it to him and he took a second to look it over. He liked it. Whether or not he’ll buy this plasma or a LCD television is to be seen. Either way, the final game of the NBA championship is bearing down and we are ready. It could look better on a brand new flat panel television but it is not a huge deal especially since our home theater 5.1 system brings the stadium noise into our living room. Here is too many more months of great sports. Maybe USA will surprise everyone in the World Cup.
