LCD Television a Great Reward for Good Grades in School |

We have a big surprise planned for the kids once school is out. They both had a great school year, earning grades we didn't think possible, so we ordered a new LCD television for them. We have a loft upstairs and I know they will love having their own LCD television to hook their games to and watch TV and movies this summer. We have only one LCD television in the house now and it gets plenty of use, so we thought that if we bought the kids their own LCD television, they could enjoy the upstairs all summer long with their friends.
This year both the kids got almost straight A averages in school because they really worked hard. We want them both to go to college and having a good GPA is part of getting into good schools. They deserve a reward for improving their grades so much this year and we thought an LCD television was the perfect way to tell them how proud we are of them. They aren't expecting a gift for their good performance this year, and all year long we've been praising them for studying so hard.
I found a great deal on the LCD television we ordered for them. It's the Haier 22" LCD TV/DVD Combo, and it comes with a DVD player, too. My husband and I debated about how appropriate a new LCD television would be for the kids because in some ways, it's a contradiction to give a TV to kids when we're promoting good grades. However, they showed us this year that they have the discipline to get their homework done first, and then relax later.
I found the LCD television yesterday at Electronics For Tomorrow at http://electronicsfortomorrow.com/, a great site for electronics and home entertainment. I buy almost everything but the groceries online these days. The selection online is huge for just about everything. In fact, we can buy from almost anywhere in the world without leaving home. We have had wonderful experiences buying online and as far as we're concerned, wouldn't think of buying any other way unless we need something immediately.
Once this LCD television is delivered, we'll stash it away in the garage until school is out and then surprise the kids on the last day of school by setting it up in the loft before they get home from school. I know they will be thrilled to have their own personal television next to their bedrooms and it will get lots of use this summer when the afternoons are hot, the kids are bored, and it's too hot to be outside. |
